Things I am learning from my 3 year old

Bella kicked her toe mucking around after her gymnastics class today. As per usual her request for an iceblock and an bandaid was forthcoming, because that fixes everything you know. So on the way home after applying the bandaid to two of her toes, because it is impossible to put a bandaid on her small toes, she announced that one toe was cuddling the other one to make it feel better but that she still needed an iceblock. So we started to discuss what flavour iceblock she might like, as opposed to colours, she thought she might like a pink one because that would be watermelon, an orange one is orange of course but a blue one hmmm what flavour would a blue one be "Dolphin of course!" announces Issabella.

While trying to write this, she has just finished eating said pink iceblock and askes me to take her wrapper, I tell her to put it in the garbage and she say frankfly "But I have a sore toe!" LOL

Funny things that a 3 year old thinks.....

After shopping with Daddy today for my Birthday present and/or Mother's Day present Isabella was so very very excited to show me what she had brought. When we arrived home Isabella goes straight to the shopping bag before Dan has a chance to stop her and yells "Look what we got" (I closed my eyes but I think I saw a bangle) After the mad scramble to sieze it from her, Isabella annouces "But its for her!!" as she huffs off up the stairs dragging her pants behind her.

later this same day while playing puzzles on the floor Isabella discovers some water on one of the pieces, she sighs and says "It must have been my little baby brother or baby sister" (Funny as she doesn't have either)

Our Birthday Princess

Issabella will be turning three at the end of this week. Its hard to believe and yet it feels like she has been a part of our lives forever. She is very bright and quick to pick up on what is happening around her. She is doing very well at La Petite and Gymbaree which she loves. Now the weather is starting to warm up again we will start some swimming lessons and maybe gymnastics. She is very settled here in the USA and has made some nice friends and seems to be happy though she never forgets her friends and family back in Australia. She loves to watch The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and adores the Disney Princesses. She loves to read and is trying very hard to write and enjoys drawing and colouring too. Here favorite thing is to dress up and dance around singing to herself and she loves to help mummy in the kitchen and with the cleaning too - Singing the "Happy Helper" song from Barney.

We had a lovely birthday party here in the US on Sunday at Kidz Bounce, a big indoor play centre with inflatable slides and jumping castle-type things, in Preston which is only about 15 min from where we are living. It was Princess themed, of course, with many of her friends also dressing for the occasion. Bella received a beautiful Snow White Dress with all the trimmings from Mummy and Daddy - she was so excited and looked so beautiful! Her cake was a princess castle with all of the Disney Princesses on it. There was one funny thing that happened when it was time to sing "Happy Birthday",  Isabella kept blowing the candles out and we had to relight them 3 times! It was a bit laugh! I really think she has had a lovely week so far and we are planning, on Thursday after Gymbaree, to go back to Chuck E Cheese with Emily for some lunch and more fun and then on Friday we will have cake again with our friends at La Petite before boarding a plane to go home to Australia and continue the birthday celebrations with all her friends and family in Aus. (Mummy can't wait!!)

Quick catch up for the end of the month

Well we are finally really getting settled in the USA, we have moved into our New Home and all our things from Australia have finally arrived. I won't say that we have everything in its place yet but we are hoping that it will be soon. Really all things considered we only had a few casualities for such a big move, just a few picture frames and my sanity (which was on the way out anyway) Isabella had her first trip to hospital too the morning the container arrived - she got a really bad gastro bug and couldn't even keep water down - I was really worried about her! Needless to say she is fine now and has bounced back really quickly.

Dan and I both have cars now too so that is helping a great deal with us being able to get back to normaility, he got another beloved Subaru and I got a Mazda CX9 which is a 7 seater 4WD but is sporty looking - I am really happy with it!

So in signing off for January and our great adventure finally things are starting to get back to normal. (whatever that is?!)

Lots of love,

Just getting on with it...

Okay so here we are a couple of weeks into the New Year and we are starting to find ourselves and get things sorted.

Bella is attending LaPetite Academy three days, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays which has allowed me to get out and explore a little of the local area, We have just started gymnastics on Thursday mornings at The Little Gym of Issaquah so that leaves us free on Tuesdays and the weekends. We are meeting some nice people and she has her first birthday party invite from one of the girls iin her class. We are spending lots of time with our lovely neighbours as their two girls and Bella get on so well.

The house has settled and is all ours! We are organising to do some renovations to the kitchens and both bathrooms before we move in as well as some painting - Bellas's room has to be pink of course! We also brought some new appliances for the litchen - stainless steel like we had in Sydney. We haven't received news of when our container will be delivered but we assume it must have landed safely and is going through all the customs inspections etc. Fingers crossed it will all work out timing wise with the renovations being completed and our furniture arriving by the end of January. I am a little over living in the temporay accomodation, its very nice but smaller then we are use to and we have lots of stuff just hanging around with no place to put it.

Much to Dan's distress I have been doing a bit of shopping, clothes for Bella as well as me and him! Plus new storage ideas for the house there are just lots more options over here and they are not very expensive.

Well this was just suppose to be a short note to keep in touch so I will sign off for now!
